I enjoy seeing Spinning Earth being used and loved! I was going to put it into the header on my own site too but did not get around to do it yet. To get you started I suggest putting it on a normal WordPress page first (as I can see you did that already), adjust the size and then check out the code it generates <code><object id=spinning-earth...></code> and put that whole block into the header.php file of your theme. I haven't done this yet, and I am not sure how it will work, but it should be a start. You can also download the <a href="http://www.utechworld.com/spinning-earth/" rel="nofollow">non WordPress version</a> (same flash file) which comes with some instructions how to use it.
